You ever step out of your door and then get to the location you planned on going to. Yet have no recollection of how you got there. That’s how New York Comic Con 2011 was for me. I stepped on to the show floor on Thursday and somehow it’s Saturday!
I had a plan this year and that was to get sketches from my favorite artists, but before that I had one thing to do. I had to adjust to...

Urban Cabin Fever
Me @ Killington, VT ‘07 - It’s been awhile since I’ve been out there
Ahh 2nd post this week. This is becoming a bad habit. Well where to start. Hmm, oh yes today wasn’t a typical work day for me. Which for me, since my days normally feel like they’re on repeat at work, it’s totally welcome. I was asked to be present at a meeting all the way out in Jersey....

First time, long time
It’s been awhile since I’ve actually put in a blog post. Now is as good as any. I just got back from dinner at my favorite izakaya in the city Hagi. If you go there order anything and you won’t be disappointed. I suggest you get the sesame ice cream with red bean for dessert, you can call me and thank me.
Okay back to some actual events and goings on. About a week ago this time I was on the bus...

Grocery Store Moment
I was at the grocery store this evening at the check out counter. The cashier was in the middle of a conversation with her work mate. As she turned over to the register to pull out my change her friend unbeknownst to her had walked away. She went on to her point saying
“he wouldn’t be acting like that if he didn’t wanna get with you.”
She then turned and looked over to...

Some of the best Conan moments are when he’s out and about. This bit is a prime example.
Being Left Handed
As a left hander in a right hand world I tend to have a level of enthusiasm when I meet someone cut from the same cloth. I noticed this the other night when I was talking to this girl and saw that she’d been wearing her watch on her right wrist. I’m not sure if it’s “the rule” or not but I’ve always worn my watch on the right so it didn’t bang around when...

What did I get myself into?!?!
Over the weekend at con I got a little impulsive and bought a Gundam model kit. For those of you who don’t know what Gundam is, it’s a japanese anime series about these bad ass robot suits people man. I’d get into it more but the last sentence was nerdy enough for me. So anyway back to the model kit, at the display booth they looked so cool, I figured it would be kind of fun to...

Con stuff
Zatanna by Stephane Roux
So last weekend I went to my first con and there were somethings I expected other things I didn’t. I knew there were gonna be some characters and there were. Costumes check. Fanatics check. Awesome artists you bet. What I didn’t expect was the sheer volume of just stuff, so many booths varying from action figures, comics, art, games to even those big body...

Costco Jerk
Saturday morning. Garden City, NY. Costco.
I was standing on line to drop off some film to be developed. While I waited, there was a guy that started asking questions toward the cashier who was in the middle of a transaction with a customer. The cashier answered quickly and then went back to what she was doing. The guy just kept on asking more questions, to which I started thinking, this guy...

Project: Lomo + Digital
Lets get it straight from the get go. Lomography is awesome. Being a dude that learned photography digitally, I’ve always been intrigued with analog (film) photography but was scared to really give it a go because I was so spoiled by all the features of modern day cameras.
A few weeks ago I finally took the plunge and got myself a Diana camera and a Lubitel TLR. Bit overkill but sample...
The Ball that Was
They gave me the game ball, why is it deflated you ask? Well at last nights kickball game I kicked the ball so hard it got impaled when it hit a tree. It was like in “The Sandlot” when Benny The Jet blew the guts out of a baseball. Feel’n pretty bad ass now haha.
I love this cover of “By Your Side” they used in Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World.

Last nights show- Kendra Morris
I’m the “Dude” btw…. although not “The Dude” only Jeff Bridges can hold such an honorable title.
Fun night check’n out Kendra Morris. She totally ripped it up again last night. Here’s a clip I took. (Make sure to flip it up to 720p HD)
Friday Night Music Quest
Friday night. Lower east side, New York. The side walks flood with drunken bar patrons like an open fire hydrant. The sweet summer wind pushes me to my destination. A bar. A stage and some seats. It’s all I need for a show. Sure I’ve done nights of drinking in the city, but for the first time, I feel some what reborn. I head to the bar and order a guiness from the Zooey Deschanel...

Street Conversations
I was walking down the street with my iPod off. This lead to actually hearing the outside world in the morning. Primarily the butt end of peoples conversations. One conversation in particular was between a group of women and hearing one of the ladies say “he was unbelievable.” To which I went up to them and said “at what?” Awkward silence and stares followed as these women...

Interesting tale behind this photo. I was at the front by the stage with my camera gear and so that made me quite the target for Todd. He made some jabs about me, to some would feel very uncomfortable but I’m a fan of Todd’s so I took it with stride. It was actually really cool because it was like Don Rickles making fun of you, you’re actually honored. He was curious why I...
